Making changes, one step at a time.
Last week, I decided I needed to make some changes, however minimal they might seem to others. I decided to get my nails done. I haven’t had tips in over a year and a half since my income dropped and I couldn’t afford to maintain them. But, I was growing tired of my short, stubby fingers and their even shorter bitten nails. I just wanted nails again and the only way I didn’t bite them was when I had tips. I went to Wal-Mart to pick up my prescriptions and walked past a new nail salon. On my way out to the car, I checked their prices and learned that they were cheaper than any I had seen before, so after putting my purchases in the car, I came back in and put my name on the list for a full set of nails. When I was done, I had sports length tips with PURPLE nail polish and fine-brush art on each of the ring fingers. Actually, more lavender than purple, but a color I had long wanted to try, but hadn’t. I had always stayed with deep blood reds and burgundies because they were more traditional. I was afraid to try something out of the ordinary. But, this time, I went with what I wanted. And, I’m glad. I like them. But, I do think I’ll go back to the darker red the next time. The purple seems out of place with my skin tone, but I’m still glad I did it. It satisfied my desire and I again have nails!! I can tap my fingers on the table top! WOOHOO!!!
